Its location in the middle of a sierra of the same name, at an altitude of 815m, provides an excellent position for the defence and surveillance of the area between the Ribera and the Montaña regions, as well as between the Aragon and Cidacos rivers.

 
           
 

It is worth visiting for its fortress-church, its medieval, mountainous appearance, with narrow cobblestone streets that mark its contours, and its stone houses, some adorned with coats of arms; for the ravines that surround it, hovering over irregular, terraced and often abandoned plots that fit into the terrain; and for its vantage point, looking out over the Ribera to the south, and Middle Navarre to the east and west.
